Fine Early Document signed, addressed to "Arthur Lord, Gentleman" printed with the details filled in by hand, appointing him "Ensign in Our Fifty Fifth Regiment of Foot ...", countersigned by John, 1st Earl RUSSELL (1792-1878, later Prime Minister), 1 side folio on vellum with papered seal nad revenue stamp, Our Court at Buckingham Palace, 30th June

Victoria succeeded to the throne on 20th June 1837 so this comes from the fourth year of her reign. The Queen had married Prince Albert on 10th February 1840, in the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace, London. Victoria was love-struck.
