KURC (Abraham, died 1942, Polish Actor and Violinist of Jewish Origin who died in Treblinka)

Fine postcard signed with an autograph note signed, in Polish on the verso showing him full length, seated in a chair with his violin and bow, wearing glasses, 5½" x 3½", no place, 27th November

Kurc became famous mainly for his roles in pre-war Jewish films and plays in Yiddish. During World War II, he was displaced to the Warsaw Ghetto , where he continued the actor's work and performed at the Eldorado Theater. During the First Great Displacement Action, he was taken to Treblinka, where he died.
