Exceptionally rare unsigned Russian Postcard photo,
showing her half length in profile, looking at a vase of roses, 5½" x 3½", no place, no date but circa
Yusupov (Youssoupoff), a fervent monarchist, married in 1914 Irina Alexandrovna (1895-1970), daughter of Nicholas II's sister Xenia. Rasputin was invited to a supper at Yusupov's palace on 15th December 1916, and shot Rasputin dead, after a strong dose of potassium cyanide in his wine had failed to kill him.
