About Sophie Dupré

SOPHIE DUPRÉ started her career in publishing. After being asked to organise the sale of a large collection of 19th century literary letters she emerged into the world of antiques with autograph letters, manuscripts, signed photos and literary property as a strong interest. She then took on the autograph department of Francis Edwards Ltd in London. In 1983 she left to settle in Wiltshire where she brought up her family and continued to run a successful international business selling autograph letters and manuscripts to institutions and private collectors. She is the world’s leading expert in Royal manuscript material.

She also works on the BBC Antiques Roadshow with which she has visited many far-flung parts of the UK and beyond, including being involved with shows as far afield as Canada but mainly working nearer to home.

The new website has her large stock of autograph letters, manuscripts, signed and unsigned photos in most fields though there is a predominance of Royal material. She exhibits at the Annual Antiquarian Bookseller’s Association bookfair in London. She is a member of the ABA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association), ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) and PADA (Professional Autograph Dealers Association.
