Collection of material relating to the Prince’s tour on HMS Repulse
comprising a programme signed “Edward P” and members of the crew for the performance of “The Bathroom Door A Farce in One Act”, in which the Prince played “The Young Lady” with two photographs of the Prince in a wig and kimono with members of the cast, each 8” x 6” and another photo of the Prince in a boiler suit, 5” x 4”, and three printed leaflets, the first “HRH The Prince of Wales’ Cruise on board HMS Repulse” listing the ports and the dates and the total distance of 18,950 miles, the second detailing the “Crossing the Line Procedure” giving a script with lines for the Captain, Neptune and Dolphinus and the last one is a Proclamation headed “Neptune by the Grace of Mythology, Lord of the Seven Seas, King of all the Water...” declaring that “it has pleased Us to convene a Court to be holden on board His Britannic Majesty’s Ship ‘Repulse’ on the 23rd day of April... by these presents We summon you... to render to Us the usual homage and to be initiated in the Mystic Rites...”, given at “Our Court on the Equator” together with a long manuscript and typed account of. the part of the voyage leading up to and after the celebrations on crossing the Equator by Lieutenant Commander G.
