saying she is "ashamed never to have written before to thank you & the Brigadier for the delightful dinner you gave Lady Helena & myself on your birthday ... It was such a pleasant interlude in the otherwise official meals we attended. The fact is I had never a moment free from some engagement or other, when free could just fall on my bed for for a few moments ... I did not write to anybody. It is lovely & peaceful to be back here & so much cooler. If ever you are this way do look us up. Come for a nice bathe & then lunch & a siesta ...
