Autograph Letter Signed to Dr. Mervyn STOCKWOOD, (1913-1995, Bishop of Southwark, 1958-1980), thanking him “for your very kind letter & all the thoughts expressed... I am sure they made the whole difference to the day”, 1st July, his Investiture at Caernarfon Castle, “which fortunately went very well”, he is now “on the last day of my progress through Wales - rather like the medieval type - and spend the whole day in Cardiff... On Monday we go to Malta for the inside of a week & some rest, I hope”, Prince of Wales’s feathers in red at the head, 2 sides 8vo., H.M. Yacht Britannia, 5th July two neat punch holes in left margin, barely touching two letters, light impression of paper clips in top left corner and two small marks
