D'ESTE (Augusta Emma, 1801-1866, daughter of the Duke of Sussex, later Lady Truro)

The Duke of Sussex, (1773-1843), 6th son of George III, married in Rome in 1793 Lady Augusta Murray (d. 1830), daughter of the 4th Earl of Dunmore. They married again in London, but the Court of Arches declared the marriage illegal. The two children were given the surname d'Este, her brother becoming a colonel in the Army. The Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850) was her father's brother.
