JEKYLL
(Gertrude, 1843-1932, English Horticulturalist and Garden Designer)
Autograph Letter Signed to 'Dear Madam'
saying that she "cannot refuse your request to come to my garden though I do all I can to avoid having what I may call outside' invitations - but your being now a neighbour makes some difference. But I would so much rather if you would come in August, when I could show you some attempts at colour arrangement. I am, alas! obliged to give so much of my ground for commercial use that I have next to no plants arranged for June, & after the spring flowers are over & the Azaleas, there is nothing of colour effects to see till about the 2nd week of August ...", 1 side 4to., together with some related ephemera,Munstead Wood, Godalming, 9th June
