I shall not be in London until April, unless by some miraculous feat I get on faster with the new opera than is humanly possible. On September 24, 1892, Sullivan's opera Haddon Hall premiered at the Savoy Theater. It ran for more than 200 performances over the course of a number of years, and was the first opera he composed after his collaboration with Sir William Gilbert ended in 1891.
