The Royal House Artillery fired a salute in Hyde Park at noon and Queen Mary joined 31 members of the Royal family to celebrate her birthday with a luncheon.
Princess Victoria Marchioness of Milford Haven was Prince Philip's grandmother and sister of the last Empress of Russia, she was also a childhood friend of Queen Mary and a HRH at birth unlike Queen Mary.
On the floor in front of the group are four children who are the Princes William and Richard of Gloucester, Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Alexandra of Kent. There are also two Victorian Princesses seated near to Margaret in the group,
