Printed Memorial card printed "In Memory of Charlotte Nicholls, who died March XXXI, MDCCCLV, Aged 38 Years", on black edged card, 4¾" x 3", no place but Haworth,

On 13th December 1852 Arthur Bell NICHOLLS (1819-1906), one of Patrick Brontë's curates asked Charlotte to marry him. Her father vehemently refused but they finally married on 29th June 1854. She died with her unborn child on the 31st March the following year, 3 weeks before her 39th birthday. These cards are very rare.
