LLOYD (Harold Clayton, 1893-1971, American Comedian, Actor and Stunt Performer who appeared in many Silent Films)

Fine large Vintage photo signed and inscribed "To Louis B. Frewer with best wishes" in white ink on a photo of Lloyd with his wife Mildred DAVIS (1901-1969, Actress) showing them three quarters length standing by a train, she is wearing a fur coat and a hat, 9" x 7½", London, 7th October

On February 10th 1923, Davis married Lloyd. After marrying, Lloyd announced that Davis would not appear in any more motion pictures. After much persuasion by Davis (and much grief) she received Lloyd's consent for her return to the screen in Too Many Crooks, which Lloyd produced through his production company. It was the only acting role she undertook after their marriage.
The Lloyd family visited Europe in 1932 and this image is from that trip and shows them arriving at Victoria Station in London.
