'Croyance, Méditation pour voix et piano', set for baritone or mezzo-soprano, C major in 3/4, the words by Eugène Manuel, (1823-1901), affirming that whether one is singing, fighting or loving, one must believe in something beyond, signed on the cover 'J. Faure' in pencil with a long flourish and dated, attractive decorative cover in a Greek key border, the back lists 65 other songs by Faure beginning with 'Les Rameaux' ('The Palms'), 1+5+1 sides 13½" x 10½", Paris, Heugel & Fils, traces in fold of former stitching, last figure of date cropped, short closed tear in front foredge, top and sides of back cover neatly masked without loss except to rules
