Background
Philipp, b. 20th July 1671, d. 20th August 1736, was appointed Commandant-General of all troops in the Kingdom of Naples on 29th May 1708. From 1714 he was Governor of the Austrian Duchy of Mantua till his recall to Vienna in 1734. The Treaty of Vienna, 1735, by which Austria received the reversion of Tuscany, was the result of intense bargaining by the Powers over her possessions, especially in Italy.
