following the Assizes, for the information of Major General Champagne, saying that it is not in my Power to forward the Deserter alluded to in the Route annexed [not present] - the Officer Commanding the Detachment 37th Reg[imen]t having reported to me - that He has No arms as yet for his Detachment, with a Memorandum on the 2nd side pointing out that the deserter's real name by his own account is, Charles Wellings - belongs to the 2d.
