Background
Miss Gordon Cumming was the sister of Sir Alexander, 1816-1866, from 1854 3rd Bart. of Altyre and Gordonstoun, and of Roualeyn, the big-game hunter. She wrote 'At Home in Fiji' (1881), 'China' (1885), and 'Memories' (1904-1905).
