Background
Dr. Shepherd was for long the minister at Elgin Place, Glasgow, the chief Congregational church in Scotland, and was Chairman of the Congregational Union of Scotland. Among his many books are 'The Gospel and Social Questions', 1902, and addresses to young men, 'Man in the Making', 1909.
