saying Unfortunately, since leaving the permanent staff of the B.B.C., myself, I have had to cancel all the engagements I had made to give such recitals - including this year's series of 'These you have loved', which I should be presenting at this moment - owing to the illness of my husband, Harry S. Pepper, who 'celebrated' his own retirement from the B.B.C., with a complete nervous breakdown... I sincerely hope it may be possible, and suggesting say, March 16th...
