Background
Evelyne Close trained as a children's nurse. She contributed to Pearson's Magazine, and wrote many books, including 'The Harvest', 1911, 'The Roll of Honour', 1915, 'A Human Heart', 1924, and 'Through the Lattice', 1928, also 'The Tide at Night' (poems), 1918.
