Background
In 1858 Mr. Williams Ellis joined in the first ascent of the Finsteraarhorn. He was also Vicar of Madingley, 1865-1876. Mr. Toke is probably the Revd. Richard Roundell Toke, Perpetual Curate of Little Dunmow, Essex, 1841-1871.
