Background
Among Gérard's books are 'The Concrete Castle Murders', 1936, 'The Return of Sanders of the River - From the Immortal Characters created by Edgar Wallace', 1939, 'The Mind of John Meredith', 1946, and 'Malta Magnificent', 1943, about Malta in WW2, during his six years in the forces. Eileen Cond was a book collector who sent out her bookplate to her favourite authors, many of whom signed and returned them to her. Among the most notable was Ian Fleming.
