Background
Haag travelled widely, lived as a Bedouin, and painted scenes in Jerusalem hitherto barred to pilgrims. He contributed 4 engravings to 'Leaves from the Journal of Our Life in the Highlands'. On the back, laid down, is an AMQS by Francis Cunningham Woods, 7th March 1896.
