Background
Vernon played Sir Geoffrey Heriott in 'Mammon', taking it to the U.S.A. in 1881 with great success. Vernon also introduced Ibsen's 'Pillars of Society' to England. The Royal Strand Theatre (1832) was best known for Comedies and Burlesques. In 1905 it made way for the new Aldwych Tube Station.
