Background
Queen Sophie was the third daughter of Emperor Friedrich Wilhelm III, and Victoria, Empress Frederick. She was a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria and married Constantine on the 27th October 1889. Princess Victoria's second marriage to Alexander Zoubkoff was disastrous as he left the Princess in a dreadful financial state.
