Background
Queen Sophie was the third daughter of Emperor Friedrich Wilhelm III, and Victoria, Empress Frederick. She was a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria and married Constantine on the 27th October 1889.The two boys both became King after their father was forced to abdicate during the First World War. Princess Helene was married to the future King of Romania and became the Queen Mother. Princess Katrina is still alive.
