Background
Glorious photograph of the symbol of Empire. Because of Alexandra's great beauty, and because of the Queen's seclusion at the time, she became the publicity princess of her day and this fine image shows the woman who represented the figurehead of the Empire on which the sun never sets. What sets the frame apart is that it has the date carved into it which shows that it was made for the photo and these early examples are rare.
