Background
Pamela Frankau portrayed in her early novels the era of the 'bright young things' but outgrew this phase and her later novels are serious in intent. She was also well known as a broadcaster. See her autobiography 'I Find Four People' (1935). Eileen Cond was a book collector who sent out her bookplate to her favourite authors, many of whom signed and returned them to her. Among the most notable was Ian Fleming.
