saying that he quite sees your point of view about BITTER SWEET. I had a long talk about the same thing with Bob Rubin in New York. The reason I am so keen to hang on to my veto is that BITTER SWEET, having been massacred once by the films, should not I feel be massacred again. Background
Bitter Sweet is an operetta in three acts, with book, music and lyrics by Noël Coward. The story, set in 19th century and early 20th century England and Austria-Hungary, centres on a young woman's elopement with her music teacher. The show had a long run in the West End from 1929 to 1931, and a more modest one on Broadway in 1929–1930 and was twice adapted for the cinema.
