Background
Huguet started at the Salon de Marseille and Paris in 1859 and presented his works from 1893 to the Société des Painters Orientalistes Français. As the main source of inspiration for his works, Victor Huguet made numerous trips to Algeria, Libya, Egypt and Constantinople. The original painting sold for 28,000 euros at Christies.
