Background
The singer, born Gloria Caroline Gillebert, reversed her family name to make 'Trebelli'. She was the favourite of the London opera stage for a quarter of a century, and married the operatic tenor Alessandro Bettini. Her artistry was greatly admired by George Bernard Shaw, who wrote about her a number of times in his various reviews.
