The Fenel[?] and his lot would naturally want to know who Carlo Manucci was and Cynthia would think that she had betrayed her lover. But the hunt for Carlo Manucci was up without that. I am very glad that you liked the book because I have never written a book with so much pleasure, or under so much compulsion and I am bound to say - though I don't think it is a regret, in so short a time.
