Autograph letter signed to My dear Baby
saying that she will come in tomorrow afternoon, hoping to find you quite well again. It is very kind in you to come, I am glad it was not in yesterday's hurricane. The leg swells, and the cold has taken away her voice, but she is better on the whole, knits, & reads and looks forward to you..., 2 sides 8vo., on blue paper watermarked 'Joynson', Elderfield, 9th December no year
The ill person in her house must either be her mother (d. 1868) or her brother's sister-in-law, who died 1897. The addressee is probably a member of the Heathcote family who lived in the neighbouring parish of Hursley.
