Background
The Auckland War Memorial Museum very kindly looked at this photo and gave this opinion - Wiremu Paora was likely from the Ngai Te Rangi tribe of Tauranga, New Zealand. It is possible the CDV was taken around 1864, the time of the battles between the tribe and British Imperial troops at Pukehinahina, and Te Ranga.
