Background
This photo was taken in Tallinn on September 10, 1987 and features astronaut Edgar Dean Mitchell (on the left), Apollo 14, 1971 (Mitchell took the longest walk on the Moon in history, spending over 9 hours there) and cosmonaut Vladimir Aksyonov (on the right), Soyuz 22 (1976) and Soyuz T-2 (1980). In the middle is the Rector of Tallinn University of Technology, Member of Academy Boris Tamm. On the same day, Mitchell gave a lecture at the university. The photo is signed on the back by Mitchell and Aksyonov. Aksyonov was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union on two occasions. He retired in October 1988.
