Broadbent was Physician to the London Fever Hospital, 1860-1879, Pathologist and Lecturer at St. Mary's Paddington, 1860-1888. He studied cancer, paralysis and aphasia, wrote a valuable treatise on heart disease, and was known for Broadbent's Hypothesis of Hemiplegia.
