Background
Nesbit was a very prolific writer and socialist. In 1899 she brought out The Treasure Seekers and the Wouldbegoods, both from her Bastable series. In the same year she published The Secret of the Kyriels, a novel for adults and two story collections for children, Pussy and Doggy Tales and The Book of Dragons. The Ladies Field Magazine was a 19th century British periodical that ran from 1898-1922.
