Thomas Wriothesley was the supporter of Charles I who endeavoured to bring about peace between the King and Parliament. After the King's execution Southampton watched over the body. Charles II met him at Canterbury, re-admitted him to the Council, created him K.G. and on 8th September 1660 created him Lord High Treasurer.Sir Charles HARBORD (1596-1679) was a Member of Parliament and Surveyor General.
