Fine Autograph Letter Signed in blue ink to Sir Alexander DUFF GORDON
(1811-1872, Civil Servant and Baronet of Halkin) telling him that Our ordinary rate of payment for contributions is one guinea per printed page of All the Year Round' but we could not reckon Lady Gordon among our ordinary contributors, therefore the papers would, most likely, be worth more to me, and be paid for accordingly. Lady Gordon would not surrender her copyright to us. All we ask is the use and advantage of the articles for this journal..., 1 side 8vo., Office of All the Year Round headed paper, Wellington Street, North Strand, 11th August

Background
Dickens entrusted Wills with the task of forwarding his letters to his mistress Ellen Ternan. In 1859, Dickens founded All the Year Round, taking William Henry Wills with him from Household Words as part-owner and sub-editor. Duff Gordon was the husband of Lucie, Lady Duff-Gordon, a translator and writer best known for her correspondence on Egypt. Lucie, Lady Duff-Gordon (née Austin, 1821-1869) was an English author and translator who wrote as Lucie Gordon. She is best known for her Letters from Egypt, 1863–1865. It is likely that this is what they are referring to.
