thanking him for his letter and saying he should very much like to talk to the University of Sussex Literary Society... I seem to have got into rather a panic trying to organise next term's teaching, and various other things, which ought to be sorted out by the second half of next term. What I shd ideally like to talk about is structural problems in modern novels - symbols & realism & length - & illustrate it out of the things that have gone wrong in my own - but not talklng just about them.
