Background
After graduating in Law, he collaborated with and directed some music information and criticism magazines; he later became secretary of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. It was here that he founded, in 1914, the puppet company I Piccoli (of which he was simultaneously impresario and director) which soon, thanks to numerous tours abroad, became famous throughout the world.
