But I fear their stay in Denmark with do neither of them any good. Background
On 6th May 1910, Edward VII had died, and George became king. Edward VIII was called David by his family and friends because it was the last of his many given names: Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David. The family used David as his primary name, probably because it represented the patron saint of Wales, and he was expected to be named Prince of Wales.
