Background
Marie Brema, born at Liverpool, was famous for her roles in Wagner and was the first English singer to be engaged at the Bayreuth Festival. She taught at the Royal Manchester College of Music, was a great favourite at the 'Proms', and created the Angel in 'the Dream of Gerontius'.
