Background
The flimsy on the verso outlines the story, in which the sister, uncertain of her feelings, refuses to marry her suitor in England until the roses cease to bloom. When the sister learns that the suitor is the man who betrayed the nun, leading her to enter the convent, the nun promises to send her roses all the year from the sunny convent garden. Dantas, poet and author, translated King Lear into Portuguese.
