A few verses are attributed with initials. Serenade ('Wake dearest, wake', p. 38) is by Agnes Kingdon. Loosely inserted, in other hands, are verses by 'M E D' to William Betty, the actor prodigy, in answer to his boast that three girls you very well know Would go through the River for the sake of you, and To my Valentine ('Though many saw [sic] mile between us lay').
