FANCHER

(S., of Connecticut)
Autograph Letter Signed to dear Friend, Sylvester Mead, M.D., (b. 1807 or 1808), of Wilton
(near Norwalk in western Connecticut), saying I went to see the wonderful chance for making money... a singular little machine which upon examination proved to be a patent corn sheller [for maize], describing its wheels and springs in detail, it... can be constructed at a cost of about $2, and the manufacturer or owner of the patent is sure to make his fortune, it is superior to all others he has seen before or since, I have not slept much since Sunday night but he hopes to write you some day a description of this land which flows with milk and honey, at present my head flows the same way, with the original autograph envelope front bearing the imperforate 3c red showing George Washington (issue of 1851), neatly cancelled, 2 sides 8vo., Cleveland, Ohio, 19th April
