LINDORES
(Jane, née Reeve, 1759 or 1760-1837, wife of John Leslie, 1750-1813, Lieutenant-General, from 1775 8th Baron Lindores)
Autograph letter, unsigned,
addressed to her husband at Gey's House, near Maidenhead, saying that her first letter since my necessary departure had opened an Opportunity of your making such Proposal for a Separation between Us as you should think proper, but to no effect, she is now required by my Proctor to furnish those minute instructions necessary... the heavy expence of which we must both wish to avoid, she is still open to an amicable Separation but otherwise must pursue protection and remedy in the Commons, that is, Doctors' Commons near St.Paul's, where the ecclesiastical judges and lawyers resided, and requests your answer in a few days... directed to Mr Bogg, 1 side 9½ x 8¼, address on verso, no place, May
Item Date: 1790
