saying she “will have the satisfaction of bringing you back the second 2 Vols of Mme Sevigné... and along with them... with your permission... my old friend Mr Wilmot as determined a Sevigneist as myself and much better informed as to the Art of that day, in short in every respect very worthy to see your treasures”, 2 sides 16mo watermarked 1847, Richmond, “Friday Morn[in]g” 12th October no year but 1849, laid down on album leaf 7½” x 5¾”, on the verso of the album leaf, laid down, is an autograph note, signed with initials, by Mrs Dinah Maria CRAIK, (née Mulock, 1826-1887, author of children’s books and ‘John Halifax, Gentleman’), saying “Newspaper returned - with thanks - very pleasant writing”, 1 side card 3” x 4¾”, The Corner House, Shortlands, Kent, 8th February 1884
