Background
'Dangerous Corner', 17th May 1932, was Priestley's first play, written partly to show that a novelist could write a good stage play with economy of means. It was directed at the London Lyric Theatre by Tyrone Guthrie, who had been directing Anmer Hall's company at the Festival Theatre, Cambridge. After three days it was due to be withdrawn but Priestley bought out the syndicate and it ran for six months.
