(Wilhelm Nikolaus, 1831-1888, son-in-law of Queen Victoria, in 1888 Emperor of Germany for 99 days)]
Unsigned Carte-de-visite Portrait Photograph, by the London Stereoscopic
and Photographic Company, showing him head and shoulders, three quarter face, in full dress uniform, as Crown Prince, 3½ x 2½, no place, no date, circa
Pictures of Friedrich III are uncommon due to his early death from throat cancer. He only survived his father Wilhelm I by three months. As Crown Prince his position was made very difficult by his opposition to Bismarck and also as his wife Victoria, Empress Frederick antagonised the Prussian people with her aggressive & tactless Englishness.
